Literature Text

We know not of the world we see,
Not grass or morning dew.
We watch and wonder everything,
For everything is new.

We feel and savor every touch,
We hear what there’s to hear.
We sample every taste and sent,
Be brave for every fear.

And in our hearts we know the truths
Beyond this make believe.
Fast approaching fragility
To which there’s no relieve.

And yet we keep our innocence,
Away from woeful dead
In evenings lit by fireflies,
And hid from dark and dread.
Another poem. A lot less happy than my last. On the topic of children, of course.
