Alright...first submission in a long time. Also, its probably worth mentioning that my sister's birthday is today. I baked her a cake last night, and today she left for a four day long party. Hmm...such an odd way of celebrating.
Anyway, this is Allard. I've been calling this character Allard simply for lack of a better name. As you can probably tell, I've gone back to grayscale work, and to be honest, I'm not entirely happy with it. I think it's the face. Without color, it's hard to do faces. The fact that I'm having trouble figuring out this character's face only makes it more difficult.
It keeps seeming like the final products of my drawings are completely different from the actual drawings. I have no idea why.
As for this character...I'm a little undecided. Set for my 1900s storyline, I'm pretty sure that this is a teacher. Or a teacher's aid. Who teaches magic. Yeah...more on that when I get into it. Alright, here's what I have so far. Allard is a teacher at an academy for magic (in case you didn't know, this story incorporates magic) who specializes in evocation, the power to create. Allard is...19 years old (subject to change), an a veritable prodigy of magic, who can cast even the most powerful of spells. Also adept at hand to hand combat, but only fares well in fights when magically augmented. Allard is brash, rude, and doesn't mind cursing in front of students, but is a fairly good person at heart. Never shy to do a favor, and never really wants to hurt people verbally or emotionally. Physically is just fine, however.
Last note: this is a guy. Yeah, I know, he's got boobs. A few years back when he was messing with magic above his understanding, he wound up getting a curse that changed his gender. He never really adjusted to being a girl, though, and still wears moslty boys clothing and telling people to call him "sir." This status is a little quirk that actually came from an old character of mine that I liked but felt wasn't too good on the whole, so I took the gender-swapped idea and put it on a character that lives in this kind of time period. There are a few more things to it, but I don't feel like typing about it now. He's currently researching for a way to remove the curse, but so far his seach has came up fruitless.
I know his legs are missing. I was too lazy to draw the pants.
